The Top 5 Keys to Wildly Successful Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a method by which an individual gets paid for successfully promoting another persons product or service. This method allows a new internet marketer to make money online with out the headaches of product development, website design, or customer service. The marketer is paid when a particular act such as a submission or purchase is made.

Many merchants are more than happy to split the profits with the internet marketer since the marketer is providing the necessary work and cost to promoting.

There are several e-commerce sites that the new and experienced marketer can join and begin promoting products and services immediately. Affliiate marketing has increased profit margins for some merchants by more than 15-20% and the trend shows no signs of slowing.

Why participate in an affiliate program?

It allows to to become a home based business owner on a part time basis while you get your feet wet. It allows anyone to build a substantial income as indicted by the many millionaires that claim to have found their fortune in affiliate marketing. These results were the product of motivation, prospecting, hard work, and training.

If you are seriously considering affiliate marketing, don't be mistaken, your results will be directly related to what you are willing to put in it.

Here are the top 5 keys to consider when choosing an affiliate program to promote:

1. A product or service that you like and have interest in.

In other words, would you buy it? This is one of the best indicators of knowing whether this a a good program to promote. If it is a product or service you would purchase then chances are good others will be interested in purchasing it as well.

2. Look for a program that has a few known guru testimonials on it, these will most likely be of high quality.

Most gurus have a reputation they need to protect. Many multi-millionaire gurus got their start as affiliates and often create their own products. These comments give some assurance that the standards of the program are solid.

3. Do a little market research on the products first
.

If you can track down a forum and ask the memebers their opinions on the product, do so. These user testimonials are helpful, but be sure to keep in mind that some people just buy to buy and may not give you a fair assessment. Ask a few people so you can get a good idea about the quality of the program or service.

4. The program is in high demand and its market is growing.

This will ensure that you will be able to make money in this program for many months and years to come. Most e-commerce sites track the data on each program offered, do your due diligence. Find those discussion boards and forums mentioned earlier.

5. Great commission splits
.

Find a program where the affiliate gets the lion's share of the profits. There are many programs offering the promoters great ratios. Keep on the lookout for these. Don't waste your efforts promoting programs that aren't willing to pay you what you deserve.

Be sure you research your product and use the 5 keys to consider as your guide. You must have the proper training necessary before you start promoting. Although millions can be made in affiliate marketing, only those with the proper skills are successful.

Choosing the right products and services will help you achieve the results you seek in affiliate marketing.

Check out this article on getting targeted traffic to your site

3 Ways to Get Targeted Traffic To Your Site...Now
by Shane Wilson
April 26th, 2007

One of the toughest things to do when first starting out in an online
business is to get traffic to your site. There are a lot of reasons
why; inexperience being the number one reason, web-site optimization
in the form of SEO or Search Engine Optimization, not having a list
of your own to drive traffic to your site, etc..

So how does someone who is new to the internet drive "Targeted"
traffic to there site. Notice I put targeted in quotes. The reason
you need targeted traffic is simple; you do not want to have someone
who is searching for gardening tips arrive at your site which is geared
toward bicycles. I bet you can guess what they will do when they
arrive, they'll leave almost immediately.

To find people who are interested in what you have to sell or offer
you need to find where they hang out first. There are many places
you can find people who are interested in the same things you are.
First, you can locate "groups" of people by going to Yahoo groups,
Google groups and MSN groups. There are literally thousands and
thousands of people at these sites in there own little groups.

These groups are broken down into categories so you can easily
target people who may be interested in your product or service. Be
sure to check them out.

Next, you can become a member at sites like Myspace and You Tube.
These two sites are among the top ten in traffic on the entire Internet.
You tube is probably easier to get free traffic from. In a matter of
minutes from uploading a video you can have thousands of people
hitting your site granted you show a link to your site in the video.

If you don't have onscreen video editing software you can get a decent
one for free here, camstudio.org.

Another way to get great targeted traffic is through the use of
article marketing. I could go on and on about it here but I have
found a great little course for free that tells you all about it and
how to generate some extra money as well. You can find more
information about it here, bummarketingmethod.com

Let's move on shall we. O.K., if you have your own product or service
then another great way to get targeted traffic to your site is through
viral marketing. This can be done very easily and here's how. Let's
take for instance that you have an ebook you are trying to sell on
home gardening. What you want to do is slim that ebook down to
a 10 to 15 page report. When you do this you want to give good
information but make it incomplete. What I mean by this is make
the person you are giving this report away to for free wanting more.

If you didn't catch what I said in the above sentence then let me
restate it here, you are going to give the report away for free. This
will drive a huge amount of traffic to your site if done correctly. To
make this technique work more effectively you will need to state in
the report that the report can be given away freely. Also, make
sure you have a small caption in the report with a call to action and
a link pointing to your site.

Finally, get people to link to your site. This can be done either
through link exchanges or one way direct links to your site. If you
are going to use link exchanges then linkmetro.com is the way to go.
It is free and they explain how to do everything.

Now, getting one way links is much better for SEO purposes. The
best way to do this is by submitting your link to directories online.
You can either do this yourself or have someone else do this for you.
If you have the time, do it yourself for free. If you don’t then
you can pay someone anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars to submit to
directories for you. Just do a Google search for directories to find
some to submit to. If you don't want to do it yourself then try a
service like inetzeal.com. They will also submit your articles to article
directories as well.

The SECRETS to marketing on MySpace

On Monday May 14th, a Free Webinar conducted by Bob Cefail, Chairman of publicly traded In Touch Media Group (ITMG), showcased a new Internet marketing product called PromoBlackBox. ITMG is an industry leader in pay per click advertising and social networking(MySpace, YouTube). Promoblackbox is a new internet marketing product geared at helping small, medium, and large businesses be more effective at marketing on the internet.

According to the Pew Research Group approximately 50% of product purchases are preceded by an internet search. These surprizing findings show a definite trend that consumers are turning to the Internet for infomation. An effective website is becoming more and more important.

The suite of Internet marketing tools consists of training and technology that is meant to drive traffic and assist websites to convert traffic into leads and sales. The online training twice weekly covers Internet marketing topics such as MySpace and free publicity that are tailored to save/make a business $1000 or more.

One popular component is the Google Adwords "bootcamp".This bootcamp contains most of ITMG's methods that earned them the highest honor from Google, Corporate Status. Mr. Cefail will also conduct webinar sessions on what techniques work best on Google Adwords right now.

Another technology within PromoBlackBox is a propriatary software application called Search Chameleon. This allows a website to change in accordance with each visitor, therefore raising the likelihood of that visitor becoming a lead or customer.

Mr Cefail then turned to the social networking behemoth, MySpace Myspace currently has 176,000,000 registrants, over 80% of which are 21 or older, dispelling the ongoing myth that Myspace "is just a bunch of teenagers." This information gives anyone with the correct approach to Myspace the opportunity to promote themselves or their business to millions for free.

Major companies in the movie, music, real estate and financial services industries have taken notice of this free, fast growing arena and are reaping great financial benefits.

There are three important elements to success on myspace. The first is to set up an attractive personal profile/page based on one's interests and target audience. Second is to "make friends" via the browse tab that finds friends by specifc demographics and/or groups tab where like minded individuals are gathered. The final and most important part of building an effective Myspace page is to "build-up" friends consistantly by hand adding friends daily.

Mr.Cefail stated that once 100 friends is reached, then adding "super-friends," those with hundreds or thousands of friends and or famous or well known is advised and more likely to be accepted.

The communication methods used to actively and effectively "do business" directly with individuals and groups on Myspace are bulletins, events, messages, and commenting Messaging and commenting is done from the onset, but in order to create a viral effect bulletins and Events are the best methods. When done in a conversational and tasteful manner a businesses "event" can initially be sent to 100 "friends" and be forwarded (reposted) and eventually reach thousands of people...free।

Ultimately it is clear if you own your business or have a product or service to sell, if you're not using Myspace you're missing out on a tremendous market. There's clearly a right way and a wrong way to create your Myspace site. This training call's tips alone provided techniques that if implemented properly could explode your business.

Free webinars on other successful techniques will be featured on Mondays at 9am PST/12pm EST. Go to www.promotersblackbox.com for further details.
